Lara Spencer Divorce: ‘Good Morning America’ Co-Host Says Goodbye David, Dishes Kids, Yoga And Diet [Photos]

Lara Spencer has divorced David Haffenreffer after their 15-year marriage went from romance to rubbish. The 46-year-old Good Morning America (GMA) co-host said goodbye, David, in terms of their marital vows, but emphasized that they remain friends, reported MSN.

Initially a CNN journalist when they met, Haffenreffer has become a real estate broker. The 47-year-old and Lara have two children. Kate is 10 while Duff is 3-years-old. And both Haffenreffer and Spencer emphasized that despite the divorce, they plan to focus on their kids.

“[Kate and Duff] remain our top priority. We will raise them and care for them together.”

Having learned through her years as a journalist that a social media picture’s worth a thousand words, Lara also posted a photo of the quartet on Instagram.

Lara reflected on what she’s accomplished in bringing up her children. And Spencer credits her own mother for the most important lesson.

“The one my mom taught me: do your best, and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t succeed. Kate and Duff aren’t afraid to experiment and try different things, and I really love that about them,” said Spencer.

And regardless of the divorce, the Good Morning America co-host added that she lets her kids take the lead sometimes in the family dynamics.

“Up to a point,” joked Lara. “I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that I’m forbidden to dance or sing on TV. Sorry, kids, but I’ve gotta be me!”

As for how Spencer keeps her energy high with juggling family and job, Lara credits a healthy lifestyle, reported Greenwich magazine.

She follows a low-carb diet, which means resisting those muffins that she loves at work.

“I usually have eggs and a grapefruit, but believe me, there’s a huge tray of muffins that call my name every day!” admitted the GMA co-host.

In addition to her diet, Lara considers herself an athlete.

“For beauty, I do yoga once or twice a week. I play tennis a lot—about three times a week—and I run around like a lunatic and never sit down. I have really ridiculous energy. I try to eat well,” added Spencer.

As for the reason for the divorce, Lara has maintained silence. That’s a dramatic contrast to The Nanny star Fran Drescher who, as the Inquisitr reported, recently dished all the details on how she stayed married for 21 years to her gay ex husband.

“I have a gay ex-husband!” said Fran cheerfully. “People always say to me, ‘How did you not know?’ He loves decorating and fashion and clothes, but we actually did have sex a lot.”
