Michael Lohan Not Too Excited About the Wedding Idea

Michael Lohan, who has now become as pious as can be, has expressed his support, or lack thereof, of his daughter Lindsay’s possible wedding to girlfriend Samantha Ronson. Yeah, we’ve catapulted way past the gay/not gay topic:

“I haven’t heard anything (about an upcoming wedding) from Lindsay, but if she was marrying Sam, I don’t think she’d ask me to walk her down the aisle,” says Michael. “She knows about my (Christian) faith … she just wouldn’t ask.”

There are some times when I wish Michael Lohan would shut it. Okay, that’s all the time, but to varying degrees. I’d probably be happy that Linds wasn’t in trouble, that she’s staying out of jail, and that she’s actually working again. You really can’t please your parents, can you?

Lindsay is a strong person to be on the ups with life after having had to deal with more drama and chaos by 18 than most of us do in our lifetimes. Speaking just as a human being, I am so happy for her that she is happy and healthy and pursuing the work and relationships that are meaningful and fulfilling to her. Plus, at her young age she has already proven herself to be majorly talented. For her father to say anything negative or remotely intolerant about her now of all times is pathetic. Give me a freaking break. By cutting him off, and stating plainly that in her view he is acting and speaking out of an addiction to fame and self-interest rather than out of any genuine love or concern for her, Lindsay is handling it beautifully and with integrity and class. I think we should all support her in that. For Christ's sake, people - celebrities are human beings, just like the rest of us. Go Lindsay- hang in there!
