NYPD Cop Used Dead Man’s Credit Card To Buy $3K Diamond Ring

NYPD cop Ymmacula Pierre allegedly used a dead man’s credit card to buy a $3,200 diamond ring from Zales.

The New York Daily News reports that the 30-year-old police officer took the credit card during a “wellness check” inside of the man’s home.

According to the report, Pierre was sent to the New York apartment of 65-year-old Ken Sanden last July. Sanden, an architect that struggled with medical issues, did not show up to work. Prosecutors claim that his absence is what led to the wellness check.

Pierre discovered Sanden’s dead body inside of his home. She reportedly used the man’s Samsung phone to contact his niece and allegedly wrote down his email and credit card information for herself at that time.

A couple of days after that wellness check, Sanden’s credit card was charged $3,282.58 for the online purchase of a diamond ring from Zales.

However, the NYPD cop did not receive the ring. Sanden’s niece reportedly cancelled the transaction after the credit card company notified her of the suspicious charge.

An official investigation of the diamond ring purchase was conducted and the findings either directly or indirectly connected to Ymmacula Pierre.

For instance, the computer used to access Sanden’s email and make the credit card purchase belonged to the cop’s boyfriend. The shipping address used for the order was also listed on Pierre’s NYPD application as a reference.

Evan Oppenheimer, one of Sanden’s former neighbors, opened up in a recent interview about Ken and the alleged crime committed against him.

“We lived next door for 10 years. He was a very private person. We trust that the police be there when we need them. This is just wrong, to take advantage of Ken. It’s a horrible thing to do, to someone who can’t take care of himself.”

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance confirmed that the NYPD cop “is accused of disgraceful conduct by using the credit card information of a dead man to buy expensive jewelry.”

Pierre has officially been indicted on misconduct charges for the brazen theft, identity theft, and the criminal possession of stolen property. She pleaded not guilty to each of the charges on Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court.

According to the New York Daily News, the NYPD has suspended the three-year veteran cop for 30 days without pay.
