Disney Releases Images And Details For ‘Star Wars: Twilight Of The Republic’

Star Wars fans are now rejoicing at the latest news released by Disney. Finally, images and details of the much-awaited Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic are now out on the market and eager fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on Disney’s newest video game series.

If you are not familiar with Disney Infinity yet, here’s what you need to know. Disney Infinity is Disney’s advanced take on the typical video game. While old school video games only require a controller and a screen, Disney Infinity takes it to a whole new level by giving access to on-screen characters when toy figurines are plugged to the console through a USB peripheral.

To create a better gameplay experience, Disney turned to Ninja Theory, Sumo Digital, and Studio Gobo. These technological bigwigs worked together to give players combat which is both faster and more involved than other games. Instead of triggering a series of static moves, players can now form chain combos and make attacks while slowly unlocking moves on an enhanced upgrade tree.

Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars will feature three playsets: Twilight of the Republic, Rise against the Empire and The Force Awakens. The third playset will be released later this year. For now, Disney confirmed that the following figures will be included in the video game: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Sywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Yoda, and Darth Maul. Players will be able to use each character in every Star Wars playset.

Fans of the trilogy can choose to buy all for a “complete” gaming experience or they can begin their collection by purchasing the Starter Pack. The Starter Pack includes the Play-Set itself and two characters, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker. They can be joined by other characters if you purchase additional figurines.

As for the game play, it is quite similar to the movie itself. It follows the same plot where the heroes uncover a secret plot and they battle villains to bring peace back to the galaxy. That is, until the next Star Wars episode.

While it is expected that this product will be highly patronized by the younger market, there is no doubt that the figurines will also appeal to older Star Wars collectors. The figurines were all created based on the characters of the original films so purchasing them would be like taking a step back in time.
