Gallagher Hospitalized After Heart Attack
Gallagher, the comedian known for his messy shows (mainly due to smashed watermelons) suffered a heart attack and is currently in the hospital.
Gallagher was scheduled to perform a show last night but according to the Hollywood Reporter the comedian cancelled the show after experiencing intense chest pains.
The 65-year-old comedian visited a Texas bar with one other person before his show when he had his heart attack. The manager called 911 and the comedian, whose real name is Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., was taken to a nearby hospital in Texas.
The comedians manager said that the heart attack was ”mild to serious” and that Gallagher would remain in the hospital for a few days.
US Magazine reports that Gallagher, now 65, suffered a heart attack last year while he was performing a show in Minnesota.

I remember sitting in the front row at one of Gallagher's shows, wearing a poncho, ducking flying watermelon and having a great time. Get well soon, funny guy.

I used to always love watching him do his acts, Haven't heard his name in awhile but I live in Minnesota and never heard about him having a heart attack here last year! Speed Recovery and health Mr. G!

Gallagher is a very funny man. May he get well, take a little time off, eat better, get in shape then joke about it like the.

I once saw his show in Laughlin, NV. Incredible improv and use of very common items. Having had a heart attack myself, I know what he's going through. May he have a quick recovery and make it back to the stage.

Love Gallagher…..I hope he doesn't leave us the same way George Carlin did (I miss him).

As far as I know, he is still in the hospital slowly recovering.
