Mississippi State And Adidas Apologize For Profanity Aimed At Ole Miss On Team Shirts: ‘F— The School Up North’

There is no secret that a huge rivalry exists between Mississippi State University and Ole Miss for state superiority, but sometimes, things are taken too far. That appears to be the case with some Adidas practice shirts that were revealed for Mississippi State and actually included a profanity-laced message aimed at Ole Miss.

Mississippi State University unveiled the baseball team warm-up jerseys after Thursday’s practice, and they look bright, and shiny, and full of profanity.

As the Clarion-Ledger revealed, the shirts have the bright lights of Las Vegas all over it and say things like “Hail State,” “Starkvegas,” and “Left Field Lounge.” There also happens to be some neon light dots that fit together to say “F–K The School Up North.”

Yes, that’s exactly what it says and it’s quite obvious, even though the lights for that particular message are usually upside-down.

The shirts have only been out for about a day, but Mississippi State University has had the profanity brought to their attention. It brought about a message tweeted out by athletic director Scott Stricklin.

Some have accepted the apology and thanked Mississippi State for issuing it. They’ve taken it into consideration and have even gotten a statement of apology from Adidas for making the shirts, per Saturday Down South.

“We apologize to Mississippi State, their student-athletes, fans and alumni for this error. The Bulldogs’ baselayer graphic today featured old artwork that was never presented to the university. This graphic does not reflect our brand values nor those of Mississippi State. We take full responsibility for this error and wish Mississippi State the best of luck during Super Bulldog Weekend.”

There’s no actual admittance as to who was the person that put the message on the Mississippi State University warm-ups. Adidas appears to take responsibility for it and says that the shirt designs were never shown to the school.

It appears as if a designer was able to get something past everyone and have it land on the shirt at the expense of Ole Miss.

The uniforms are not going to be worn during games per a spokesperson for Mississippi State University, and the profanity-laced shirts, matching cleats, and leggings were not specifically ordered by the school that way. This design won’t ever see the field.
