Robert Herjavec, Kym Johnson Rumors Heat Up As Fans Start To Ask About His Split
Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson have been at the center of dating rumors since Dancing with the Stars started Season 20. The couple has played coy about a potential relationship off the dance floor, but they are not hiding the fact that they spend a lot of time together at the moment.
The dating rumors began after the couple was spotted getting cozy at a DWTS after party back on March 16, according to People Magazine. One witness said the couple was “canoodling” during the event.
Since then, judges and other Dancing with the Stars contestants have made comments about the pair’s chemistry and their relationship off the dance floor. Derek Hough shared his own thoughts about the pair’s relationship with Us Magazine after the couple performed their foxtrot last month.
“I think they’re an adorable couple. Literally when Kym describes the kind of man that she’s looking for, it’s him! She’s like, ‘I need a guy like this and like this’ and I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s him!’ More power to them! I say yay to that.”
Robert and Kym have not confirmed that they are indeed a couple. Robert did make an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday morning, and he did make a comment that has stirred up the rumors even more.
“She’s a great dancer and she’s become a great friend. It’s more than just the dancing. I think we just get along great!”
It is the “more than just dancing” comment that has put the dating rumors into overdrive since his interview on GMA.
Kym has not spoken out, but she has shared several photos on her Instagram account that show fans just how close the pair have become since the season began. The couple even spent Easter together, and Kym shared a photo of the two of them together. They both wore bunny ears.
If the rumors are true, why have the couple not revealed they are indeed a couple? Robert Herjavec is in the midst of a divorce. He and his wife of 15 years, Diane Plese, split last year. This latest batch of speculation has fans wondering if the couple’s divorce is indeed final.
According to News Oxy, one fan of the show expressed their concerns over the situation on social media.
“Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson are using the ABC reality show as a match dating game. For someone who’s still married, he just couldn’t wait until after the divorce papers.”
Robert did not have an easy time of it after the split from his wife. In fact, the Shark Tank star has spoken quite candidly about his divorce and his reaction to it in a recent interview.
“I just wanted to end it … It’s been a terribly difficult year. We were great parents and a great team, but over time we drifted apart … I was hollow and broken. Everyone has their kryptonite. For me, it was my kids. It took me to a place I never thought I would go.”
Robert did reveal what helped pull him out of the deep depression he fell into after the split from his wife with ABC News. He volunteered at the Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. There, he helped the homeless, and that gave him a new perspective on life.
“I saw so much pain, so much loss and grief, but, yet, joy. It just stripped away everything for me and brought me back to a place of happiness. You have to have hope. I mean, somebody loves you. It’s never the end and you’ve just got to believe that tomorrow’s going to be a better day.”
His appearance on Dancing with the Stars has also helped. He has revealed that the contestants have formed a little family, and Kym has been supportive of him every week. He said, “I don’t think [Dancing with the Stars] could have come at a better time in my life.”
On Monday night’s show, Robert and Kym performed a special waltz that he dedicated to his mother, according to a previous Inquisitr report. His mother died from ovarian cancer. In his Entertainment Weekly blog, he shared a message about ovarian cancer with his fans.
“[There were] approximately 22,000 new cases of Ovarian Cancer reported across the U.S. last year alone. There was a 44.6 percent chance of survival for those diagnosed between 2004-2010. We need to do more. We must do more. Cancer doesn’t care if you’re tall, short, small, large, someone’s brother, sister, father or someone’s mom.”
Next week, the theme is Disney Week. Fans are already buzzing about the pair’s song selection and the performance for next week. The couple will perform a quick step to “Step in Time” from Mary Poppins. On Wednesday night, Robert shared a photo from their rehearsals on Twitter.
