WWE News: Kurt Angle Reveals His Reaction To WWE Not Signing Him Last Year

Kurt Angle is a future WWE Hall of Fame wrestler. His contributions to the business, as well as the WWE itself, were vital during the Attitude Era and beyond. However, after he quit the WWE, Angle went on to compete with TNA on Impact Wrestling. The Pittsburgh-native just re-signed with TNA for another year. After his final stint with Impact Wrestling, Angle said he would retire.

The only caveat is if WWE calls him and wants him to come back for one final run. Angle is dead-set on retirement from professional wrestling, unless it’s for the greatest wrestling company in the world. Angle would add more excitement to an already-fantastic WWE product. Since WrestleMania, it’s been on the rise.

There was an instance last calendar year when the WWE Universe thought they were getting Kurt Angle back. Sports Illustratedtalked to Kurt Angle about a myriad of things including a point in time where a return to the WWE was realistic. Angle kept his options open for both WWE and TNA. At the end of the day, Angle said a deal with WWE just never worked out.

“Paul [Levesque] is in charge,” Angle said. “I found that out when I contacted Vince. I’ve always had a good relationship with Paul, so I didn’t consider that a problem. But he decided they had enough talent.””For the Vince McMahon who I knew, enough was never enough. He always wanted more. I don’t know what was going on over there, but they even canceled our meeting. I never went to see them. They didn’t even sit me down and talk to me.”

Angle then said bluntly, “The WWE would have made more money this year if they would have signed me. That’s no secret.” Perhaps Angle is correct about that, because the WWE Universe is waiting for Kurt Angle’s music to blare over an arena’s speaker system. They haven’t seen the former-Olympian since 2006.

Did Angle do the right thing and remain with TNA? The former-WWE champion did exactly what he had to do. In the interview, Angle talked about Dixie Carter and TNA offering him everything he wanted. When a contract comes around that is too good to turn down, the only logical step is to accept it.

After analyzing Kurt Angle’s answers, he does want to return to the WWE. His name alone would make the WWE a lot of money. However, both parties have to want the same thing. In this instance, the WWE didn’t want Angle back.
