New York Knicks phenom Jeremy Lin can add yet another famous name to his ever-growing list of fans — former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
While visiting New York City earlier this week, Palin told reporters that her support for the new basketball sensation is not a fleeting feeling.
“I’ve got some Linsanity!” Palin said as she held up a blue shirt with Lin’s already iconic No. 17 stamped on the back.
Palin added that she considered the Jeremy Lin an inspirational “American story … [that] unifies our country.”
“Talk about the underdog whose worked so hard and overcome alot,” said Palin, who joins a growing list of celebrities – including President Obama, Shaquille O’Neal and Kim Kardashian – that have recently voiced their support for the Knick’s star. “We’re big fans of Lin.”
Being that Palin is known for her conservative beliefs and strong Christian values, one might think that Lin and Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow- both of whom are devout Christians- would appeal to the former vice presidential candidate. And they do.
However, when asked to share who she likes more between the two athletes, the former governor of Alaska was undecided.
“I love ‘em both, and they’re so talented and so good in their own sports,” Palin gushed.
