Telltale Teases ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode 3, Will There Be Dragons?

Telltale teased the next installment in their Game of Thrones series with a image released via their Facebook. The next episode, titled “The Sword in the Darkness” shows a massive dragon shooting flames. While “The Sword in the Darkness” hints the next Game of Thrones Telltale game might spend some time at the Wall, the dragon in the teaser image does pose some questions.

Asher, one of the playable characters from House Forrester, is currently in Essos, one of the major continents in Game of Thrones. Telltale’s series takes place from the end of the HBO show’s third season and goes until the beginning of the show’s fifth season. During this time Daenerys Targaryen is taking her dragons throughout Essos, conquering one slaver city after another, eventually settling in to rule over Meereen. It is entirely plausible that Game of Thrones fans could encounter the wrath of the Targaryen dragons along the way. In fact, the specific dragon being pictured looks like Drogon, the dragon named after the Dothraki Horse-lord, Drogo.

But why the name? The title “The Sword in the Darkness” is directly pulled from the oath the Men of the Night’s Watch take before being honor-bound to the Wall. The previous episode also places players in the role of Gared Tuttle, a squire for House Forrester who has been sent to the wall for his protection from House Whitehill. The whole plotline (SPOILER ALERT) for the book and television series seems to be pointing to a showdown between the White Walkers beyond the wall and the Dragons of Daenerys Targaryen, so maybe Telltale’s Game of Thrones image is playing at that? We won’t know until Telltale releases more information, which should be coming in the near future. The last two episodes of Game Of Thrones: A TellTale Series were teased and then “officially” revealed early the next week, so we’ll have to see if the trend continues with Episode Three.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series takes control over House Forrester, a lesser house in the North who are loyal Bannermen to the Starks of Winterfell. During the War of the Five Kings, the House throws their lot in with Robb Stark only to have them fall on hard times as a result. Renowned in Westeros for their ironwood trees, House Forrester seeks to stay alive during this time of upheaval and uncertainty. Game of Thrones is based on the HBO series, which as reported by the Inquisitr, will have its premiere simulcast and subsequent episodes air at the same time globally, meaning everyone can flock to Twitter without fear of spoilers.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series Episodes 1 and 2 are currently available on PC, Xbox, Playstation, iOS, Android and Amazon devices.
