‘Transistor,’ ‘Rogue Legacy,’ And More Free Games Hitting PS Plus In February

Following Microsoft’s announcement of the free games that Xbox LIVE Gold members will receive for February, Sony revealed Thursday what free titles PlayStation Plus subscribers will have available to them for the month. PS4 owners can expect three indie titles while the PS3 gets two downloadable retail releases and a free indie game. Meanwhile, PS Vita owners will get two indie titles at no additional cost.

The PlayStation 4’s free games for PS Plus members in February feature two well-received games in the form of Transistor from Supergiant Games and Rogue Legacy via Cellar Door Games. The latter will also be available for free on the PS3 and PS Vita.

The third free title for the PlayStation 4 is the brand new Apotheon, which releases Tuesday, February 3. This Greek mythology title comes from Alientrap Games, who previously released Nexuiz and Capsized. In addition to Rogue Legacy, PS Plus subscribers with a PS3 receive the retail titles Thief and Yakuza 4 for free in February. The former received mostly mixed to negative reviews while the latter was generally positive.

Finally, PS Vita owners will see the brand new release of Kick & Fennick from Greenhill Studios on February 3.

Here are the official descriptions of each from the PlayStation Blog.
