About those fried eggs you’re eating….

Eggs are a versatile little thing that can be used is so many different ways in our meals but have you ever stopped to wonder what exactly is involved in getting those little oval beauties into your hands, and stomach?

Probably not just as you probably didn’t know that there is currently 300 million chickens in the US spread out in the various egg factories across the country. I say factory because that is exactly what egg production is except here we have live birds as the producers of the goods we want.

But what if you could see the production line from the point of view of a chicken in a cramped cage?

Well this is exactly what AnimalVisuals has done and they have made a video of what it does look like for us to view

Web developer Mark Middleton created AnimalVisuals.org to help expose the conditions animals face in factory farms through interactive, illustrated recreations from the animal’s perspective.

AnimalVisuals has only one “virtual environment” so far: the egg-laying hen’s battery cage. Complete with a soundtrack recorded inside an actual factory farm, viewers are invited to read factual information about the intensive confinement at the bottom of the screen.
