I just finished getting my own copy of the recent comedy show that Louis CK put on and then made available via the web for the amazing price of $5; and you know what .. it was one of the best online buying experiences that I have had. I mean it only took entering in my email address, paying for the video via PayPal, and then selecting the quality of the video I wanted to download, and with no DRM included.
It is a process that the television would do well to mimic and maybe then we wouldn’t be seeing Top 10 Most Pirated TV-Shows of <insert year here> type posts showing up this time of the year. Oh sure it wouldn’t get rid of them entirely, just as Louis CK’s experiment didn’t stop some idiots from uploading and sharing the video via torrent sites.
