‘Frozen’ Apology Defrosted — ‘Let It Go’ To Be Featured On Glee!

From drinking games at Halloween (one shot per Elsa) to medical students singing ‘Let it Go’ before final exams at the University of Colorado, Frozen fever rages on. The popular song will be featured on the sixth and final season of Glee.

What makes ‘Let it Go’ so popular? A mix of Disney magic and a way to have the audience identify with the characters, this time strong, yet troubled, princesses. The angst, the brooding, and the broken heart. It stirs the soul and makes karaoke nights a bit more grand.

One million copies of “Let it Go” sold and an Oscar win within his grasp, Robert Lopez spoke of the song’s popularity in an interview with the Star.

“We’ve won awards before and they’re great — it’s wonderful to win them — but way rarer is to be able to go online and be able to see every kid in the world singing your song,” said Lopez, who co-wrote “Let It Go” with his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

The award winning song has its detractors — parents of small children. Listening to another rendition of “Let it Go” after you heard it six times that afternoon on the way back from school pick-up is akin to doing the Lego Fire Walk. Rest assured, the performance on Glee is perfection.

As reported by Mail Online, Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, will sing ‘Let it Go’ during a scene featuring her return to McKinley High. Her performance is dazzling. Dressed in a flowing grey gown, Lea Michele evokes her inner Elsa that could melt the icy heart of her nemesis, Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch.

“Let it Go” is no stranger to Glee. The smash single was originally sung by Idina Menzel, who plays Shelby Corcoran, Rachel’s mother.

According to a sneak preview on Entertainment Tonight, Glee fans are in for a treat. When Rachel learns that McKinley High School has cut the arts budget, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel confront Sue with their newest musical mission.

“We’re bringing back the glee club,” Rachel announces. Nonplussed, Sue informs that Rachel will “beg for death.”

Let the reunion begin! Glee fans will see plenty of familiar faces on the season premiere. Unfortunately, they will have to “let it go” at the conclusion of the season and wait for Netflix to watch the magic all over again.
