Am I "worried"? NO, I think they are completely ridiculous! AND, they better not be on welfare!

Pamela, definitely not on Welfare, there show is a huge success and on average shows that make it past the first several seasons provide their stars with a decent percentage of the show's production cost. Typically 10% which would mean about $25,000 to $40,000 per episode. Throw in speaking appearances (could be more than a single episode cost structure), interviews, etc….and they are making more than you would probably guess in a single year.

I am so sorry for your loss, I too know the heart break of losing a child…. My god be with u in your time of need, and my thoughts and prays go out to u and your family.

I am saddened by the loss of life… However, how she any different then the "octo-mom?" it's not like his salary alone is supporting their family just as hers wasn't.

pamela u have the right to ur own opinion but to express it in the way u did at a time when the duggars r hurtin is what i find ridicious ! i will never understand y one needs to say they better not be on welfare ! 1st of all u watch their series u would know the answer and 2nd of all even though i am not the most religious person they r and they raise all there kids with god love and they r very well behaved children ! they r wonderful parents and they have taught all their children what a family is n how to treat others ! to the duggars i am so sorry for ur loss and my thoughts n prays will be with u ! whats not gods plan now may be gods plan later or he may have a wonderful surprise for u in the end ! take care n god bless !

I just have to say that your personal opinion of the family is yours to have but I believe you are being very ridiculous by speaking so heartlessly towards them in this which has to be a most difficult time, I don't mean to saound harsh this comment just hurt me dearly as a person who has experienced the loss of a child. there are sometimes when your opinions should be kept to yourself. And jsut to clear things up they are not nor have they ever been on welfare or any other kind of government assistance whethter before or after there show began! God bless you

Actually his salary alone IS supporting their family. He is a very schrewd business man, and they are COMPLETLY different than "octo-mom". Why comment on something you know absolutly nothing about. Chelsea LeVeck their salary comes from exploiting their children and his wife. Yes, they are making that money because people choose to watch that type of TV … but with out that supplemental income i seriously doubt it. and being a "godly" man he should see how all these pregnancies are harming her health and their last child. AND I COMMENT because it asked what i thought….oh and because i live in the UNITED STATES where i have the right too… WHY reply and directly attack someone you know nothing about if you have an opinion then state it and move on

Melissa Duran-Palacios I do know something about you. You are rude. This show is not their only means of income. They have been debt free since they started having children . This show is a blessing to them financially, but not fully supporting them.

Nadia Suleiman was criticized for getting paid for her appearances, to help support her multiple children… and SO ARE THEY. Point being it's not healthy for her or their family to have that many children. Nor is it in the already over populated environment we currently live in.

I admire and respect the Duggar's for the family they have and how they have raised them but maybe after giving birth to little baby Josie and that little thing having so many problems, Michelle's body is just getting worn out. God has made us definitely beautiful and thankfully to bear our babies, but could it be that God is saying, it is time to stop? I don't know but either way my prayers are with all of you and no one should be concerned about how you can afford your family and even if you do decide down the road to have another child I personally would only say that I would pray for the best for all of you. I just see a double standard. Yes, they may be good god fearing people but who's to say Nadia is not, she may have not chosen to place her wants on religion. the whole point of the article was basically "is enough, enough".. and my response is Yes.. with age and as many pregnancies as she has had there are health issues that follow her and her "future" children. Why not stop and enjoy the family she has and her grandchildren. Your higher calling has been met you came, you saw, you conquered.

Melissa Duran-Palacios The difference is the Duggars are debt free and have been since raising kids. They are raising moral citizens, and take family very seriously. They dont own a TV because they like to spend time together. They homeschool so they can monitor what they kids are exposed to, and grow as a family unit, They play instruments and pray together every night. They are modest, loving, and well behaved. They do things for and in the community they live. Nothing alike at all. The Duggars are not on assistance, and have never ever been on any type of assistance. They are a beautiful family. Not everyone that has a bunch of kids is like "octo mom". Not even on the same planet.

They don't watch tv because they want to build strong relationships together and they feel tv gets in the way. They are ON TV to witness to people about Christ and his Love.

to the duggers I'm very sorry for your loss I lost my son at 32 weeks pregnant and I was the worst thing I've ever been through. you people flapping your gums about them not having anymore kids you need to keep your opinions to yourself this is a very hard time for them show some compassion ya asses.

Celeste, did you really ask that question about college? They have a hit TV show, written many books, and the husband has a successful business. Plus, there are always student loans. I'm sure they will have no problems affording college. That is if they chose to go at all.

I don't think it's anyone's business how many children the Duggars have. They are self supporting and take nothing from the Government. Most of all, their children seem to be happy and doing very well. Bravo to them!!

I hope you are paying enough taxes to cover all the resources your tribe is using. I find you both to be narcistic and should refrain from further reproduction. Get a clue. Your carbon foot print should be regulated by the Feds.

While it's awful to lose a pregnancy, remember she already has 19, and two grandchildren, something I'll probably never have. Her 18th nearly killed her, and 19th barely lived. Maybe it's God's way of saying, "ENOUGH, ALREADY!"

If you did you would know that the house they live in their whole family built with the help of a single contractor. He taught them everything and they did it themselves!! They have a phone tower on their property that phone companies pay them to use! So before you say a word about them do u reseach and get ur facts straight!

You are heartless. No number of children can ever replace a child that is lost. Clearly you have never lost a child because you would know better.

It is not the parents' job to pay for college for their adult children. Both my husband and I paid our own ways. Our parents taught us to be self relient adults, not entitled adults.

I'm speecheless, its so out of the ordinary, to have so many kids.Regardless if you can afford it, or if you are religius.If it was close to normal, there would be more families like it.And all these comments, what are you trying to protect.It would have been so much nicer, if they out of their goodness, had addopted a few, from out an orphanage.They would have been less selfish and would have done more for humanity.Behaving like rabbits is not the way, my opnion.

I feel sad for them for losing a child…I also feel sad for the other children who are left to raise their sibs and won't get any of the real attention they deserve b/c mom and dad having babies is what the whole family centers around..including the show. They could just simply avoid having sex for 4-6 days out of each month and she would likely not get preg. A simple calendar and planning would ensure that they are available to each and every one of their children…it just seems not fair for the children…it feels selfish on the parent's part. And the youngest child needs extra attn…that alone takes a lot out of parents… I just don't understand their logic/beliefs… ?? and please don't tell me it's God's will or way… there are plenty of good Christians who stop at 4 or 5 kids! ??
