WWE Diva AJ Lee Reacts To CM Punk’s UFC Contract, Ronda Rousey, Rey Mysterio, And More Freak Out
WWE Diva AJ Lee has semi-officially reacted to her husband CM Punk landing that big UFC contract. Not surprisingly, many others, like Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio, are freaking out on Twitter, as well.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, UFC and Bellator fighter Phil Baroni claims CM Punk will get his “whiney” neck broken once he starts MMA fighting. The fact that CM Punk’s age is quite a bit higher than most beginning MMA fighters has been raised, but Urijah Faber reacted to that idea in an almost poetic manner.
When CM Punk signed up with the UFC at short news conference at Mandalay Bay following UFC 181, he admitted, “Oh, I’m staying the [expletive] off Twitter.” That’s probably a good thing since social media pretty much exploded once the news came out. But that did not stop his WWE Diva wife AJ Lee from offering congratulations.
I am the proudest wife in the world. pic.twitter.com/N02RJzumQK

Short and sweet, right? The brevity of the message probably belies the fact that she does not want to create any major waves within the backstage of the WWE by publicly telling the world what she really thinks about the way the company treated her husband over the past year. Although Vince McMahon has publicly apologized, it might be assumed that this particular grudge will take a little while to cool off. Meanwhile, everyone else is just excited at the news. When Ronda Rousey first met CM Punk in person, she admits she fangasmed all over the poor guy. Her reaction on Twitter was pretty much the same.
WHA?!?!?! @CMPunk!!?!!!!?!! #cantwait

Needless to say, if Rousey ever offers to roll around on the mat with CM Punk, you would think AJ Lee might have something to say about that. Besides the awesome reactions of these two women, other pro wrestlers have shown their support for CM Punk’s UFC match.
Awesome to see my homie Punk at UFC 181 announcing his new career as a UFC fighter! Congrats & wish… http://t.co/PdXNQHDccS

@CMPunk kick some ass brother.

Of course, not everyone is that enthusiastic. Some have taken the side of Ryback and Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren, who tossed his feud with UFC President Dana White into the mix.
So Punk whined when @Ryback22 was too stiff in the ring…can’t wait to see him in UFC. #FuelingTheFire

@ufc sign a fake wrestler, but not an Olympian who is the best WW in the world. Amateur move.

All you dummies believed @danawhite when he said I need more experience. Then he signs a 0-0 fake wrestler. LOL on you

Do you think the “fake wrestler” CM Punk will be able to cut it in the UFC?
