Tina Knowles Dishes About Solange’s Wedding, Shares Intimate Details About The Private Ceremony
Tina Knowles is still on cloud nine following her youngest daughter Solange’s wedding to Alan Ferguson this past weekend. The 60-year-old fashion designer recently appeared on Entertainment Tonight, where she dished about the heartwarming weekend. Needless to say, it was definitely a day filled with happiness laughter and fond memories.
“There wasn’t a dry eye in the place,” Tina said of the three-day wedding event that took place in New Orleans. “They were just so heartfelt and I just think the wedding epitomized Solange as a person, and her and Alan’s artistic flare.”
Tina also revealed another interesting detail fans wouldn’t know by looking at their viral all-white ensemble wedding picture. Solange actually didn’t have a traditional wedding with bridesmaids and groomsmen. The picture was simply a family portrait, as opposed to a picture of Solange’s wedding party.
But, nevertheless, the entire scene was absolutely gorgeous, with everyone dressed in all white for the elegant event. However, there was one issue they faced as the big day went on. Tina revealed Solange suffered from hives, but fortunately, that ordeal didn’t last very long. Beyoncé reportedly saved the day, reports Yahoo! News.
“Solange went through the wedding and the sit-down dinner and she was just fine, and then they had a second line in the streets of New Orleans and she was dancing so hard, I think she just go overheated,” Tina explained. She added, “And the seafood, I think she had a reaction to it.
“Beyoncé took her back to the hotel and gave her Benadryl and cortisone creams. She took a shower and in two hours, she showed up at the reception and did the dance with her son and just had a ball,” she said.
However, Tina isn’t the only person who has shared details about the wedding. Solange also took to Twitter with words of gratitude for the Benadryl she had to help with her hives ordeal.
Then, of course, Tina was asked about that one thing that usually comes after marriage — babies! When asked if she’s ready for more grandchildren, she immediately beamed about her three grandchildren — Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy, Solange’s son Julez, and Kelly Roland’s newborn baby boy. Although no one is expecting right now, she’s definitely ecstatic about the possibility of welcoming more grandchildren in the future!
“I got two boys and a girl. Couldn’t ask for better than that,” she said. “I’m always ready for more grandbabies.”
