Kardashian Boycott Petition Closes in on 150,000 Signatures

Posted: November 18, 2011

The ‘Kardashian Boycott’ petition we reported on less than 48 hours ago has rocketed in size. On Wednesday, around 11,000 people had put their digital stamp of approval on Cyndy Snider’s petition, which states:

Dear E! Online, We are respectfully requesting that your network find other shows to Air [sic]. Keeping up with the Kardashians is just not viewing that we the public, would like to see from your network. Enough is enough.

At the time of writing, the total stands at over 141,000, suggesting it will hit 150,000 in the next few hours.

Anti-Kardashian sentiment has hit new heights since her 72-day money-spinning marriage to NBA free agent Kris Humphries ended in divorce last month. Many have cried ‘publicity stunt!’, despite Kardashian’s desperate protests that the marriage was very real. The reality TV star has even hired a lawyer to silence those who claim the marriage was a sham.

Of course, everybody knows the petition is ultimately futile really. Even in the incredibly unlikely event that E! does cut Kardashian’s publicity oxygen, it’s not the end of Kardashian the Brand (the fragrances, the clothing, the magazine deals). Indeed, stunts like this only provide more publicity, thus creating a sort of infinite misery loop (one kept alive by me and others reporting on it – d’oh).

And even if KK was booted from public life, the vacuum that would be left in the pseudo-celeb dimension would be filled by some other piece of fluff. Man, I just made myself cry a little. Can someone stop the planet while I get off?

[Petition here, if you must]

I don't care who fills the spot – as long as it isn't the Kardashian KLAN! Nobody (and I mean NOBODY) can be as totally disgusting as they. And Inquisitr, just so you know, it's not only the Kardashians that everyone's boycotting but the sponsors of any of their shows. Now that's gotta hurt!

  2. It is sad to see how NOBODY'S like the Kardashians can be made into instant celebraties without having any talent at all. I am always happy to see others achieve fame, when they DESERVE it. The Kardashians do NOT deserve it. Then….they act is if they have it coming to them. By supporting any of their lines and them, we are contributing to the downfall of the American people.

They play that show here in UK and I don't understand why its even being made. Kardashian sounds Armenian to me – the only reason I was attracted to see it but its cheap TV full of nothing. Too much of this is happening now – the vapid world of celebrity. No art, no class a big fat NOTHING :( (

Holly Wiltz Barnes that sounds like a grand idea!!! They'll have a petition for all the haters & then for all the lovers! Lol idk what the big deal is. So what if she wants to make abunch of money. If E! Or people mag can pay her that much money, more power to them.
