WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions

This coming Sunday, WWE’s annual pay-per-view event Hell in a Cell will take place from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

This past Monday on RAW, Triple H claimed that the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view will mark the end of two ongoing WWE rivalries, one of which features Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and the other features the decade plus long rivalry between John Cena and Randy Orton.

Much like most WWE pay-per-views these days, the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is pretty much a “who cares” show with the exception of the two cell matches, and even the build up to both of those matches have been underwhelming.

There could be a bit of controversy surrounding this Hell in a Cell card, but we’ll get into that when it’s time. But for now, let’s go ahead and start the predictions!

WWE Divas Championship: Paige vs. AJ Lee (champion)

The WWE Divas Championship has been passed back and forth between AJ Lee and Paige since the night after WrestleMania 30 when Paige defeated AJ Lee for the title in her WWE debut.

Since Paige’s debut, AJ Lee has won the title back from Paige, then Paige won it back from AJ, then AJ won it back from Paige. This is a rivalry that just seems to keep dragging on and on and on and on.

Sunday night at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view I sincerely hope we’ll see the conclusion to this 6-month-long rivalry. However, I’m not sure WWE has that in their plans.

Prediction: Paige defeats AJ Lee at Hell in a Cell with the help of her new friend, Alicia Fox.

WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs. Gold & Stardust (champions)

This is another long-time rivalry between these two teams that will most likely not come to an end on Sunday night, mostly due to the fact that these two teams just don’t have any other teams that they can work with.

Gold and Stardust won the tag titles from the Usos back at Night of Champions last month. Since then, the two teams have competed against each other in a series of 6-man tag-team matches.

There have been rumors of the Usos turning heel, but I’m not sure that would make very much sense especially since Gold and Stardust are already the top heel team and title holders.

Because of the lack of depth in WWE’s tag-team division, I fully expect this rivalry between the two pairs of brothers to last through the TLC pay-per-view in December.

Prediction: The Usos win and regain the WWE tag titles.

Big Show vs. Rusev

I’ve never been a fan of the USA vs. the world story line in wrestling. It just comes off as cheesy and fake. Same thing goes for this Rusev and Big Show angle. It’s just plain awful.

This past Monday on RAW, the big Russian heel Rusev kicked an United States serviceman (not a real member of the military, just a plant in the audience dressed up as a US serviceman) in the head and laid him out. As a result, the Big Show was infuriated and, in an attempt to build more heat in his angle with Rusev, he cut an intense and passionate promo after the “US soldier” was carried out.

In the past couple of weeks, Big Show has asked Mark Henry to let him beat Rusev on his own. On a recent episode of RAW, Big Show was having a match with Rusev when Mark Henry ran in and attacked Rusev, causing Rusev to win by disqualification.

Prediction: Rusev wins with Mark Henry’s help. Henry, who lost to Rusev back at Night of Champions, won’t want his friend to get all of the glory and praise from the fans that he would have gotten had he beaten Rusev, so Henry will turn on his friend, the Big Show, and cost him the match.

United States Championship: The Miz vs. Sheamus (Champion)

Well, Miz lost his battle for one “who cares” championship when he lost the battle with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. So hey, why not book him to go for the other “who cares” championship?

With the current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar taking an extended vacation due to his part-time contract, WWE has had a golden opportunity to make one of their mid-card titles really mean something. Well, they’ve failed so far.

I’ve never been much of a Miz fan until recently when he paired up with Damien Sandow, who is now known as Damien Mizdow.

This past week on RAW, Mizdow pinned the United States Champion Sheamus and The Miz, who was on commentary, celebrated like he had won the WWE Championship.

Prediction: The Miz wins the United States Championship with the help of his “stunt double” Damien Mizdow. Also, a Sheamus heel turn could be coming soon.

Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella

The stipulation to this match is simple. The loser must become the winner’s personal assistant for the next 30 days, and if the loser doesn’t comply, then she’ll be fired.

This match is simple to figure out. It makes much better TV when the bad guy wins a match like this and the good guy has to do all of the bad guy’s awful tasks they’re assigned. However, I don’t care what happens in this feud, good TV is impossible for this sister vs. sister rivalry.

Prediction: Nikki Bella wins.

Hell in a Cell: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

This is supposedly the blow off match to this long rivalry between the former Shield members.

Rollins, who has been able to escape being in any situation or match with Dean Ambrose, won’t be able to run and hide this Sunday at Hell in a Cell.

As I mentioned before, there could be some controversy with this card, and well, this is it. Ambrose and Rollins will likely be put in the semi-main-event. This will likely make a lot of fans angry that WWE is putting the same old crap in the main event of the show.

Regardless of where Ambrose and Rollins are on the card, they’ll steal the show. Their segment with Mick Foley was by far the best thing on RAW this past Monday and it really got me excited to see this match.

Prediction: Dean Ambrose defeats Seth Rollins. Where does Ambrose go next? I have no idea. Maybe a feud with Ambrose and Triple H will begin the next night on RAW.

Hell in a Cell: Randy Orton vs. John Cena

WWE’s reason for putting these two in the main-event will probably be that it’s a number one contender’s match for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Championship. While that makes sense, I don’t think it’s a good idea for Cena and Orton to try to follow Ambrose and Rollins unless they have something epic up their sleeve.

With Seth Rollins curb stomping Randy Orton on Monday’s RAW, it looks like Rollins and Orton is the direction WWE is going in after this match. However, the Orton vs. Rollins program may not happen right away, as The Inquisitr reported that Orton may have suffered a back injury on RAW and could miss some time.

Rumor has it that John Cena has been scheduled to face Brock Lesnar (again) at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January, which would be Lesnar’s next title defense.

Many people believe that Cena will beat Lesnar at the Royal Rumble simply because WWE just doesn’t want their top hero John Cena losing to Brock Lesnar three times in a row. Furthermore, their idea of launching Roman Reigns as the new face of the company could include him beating the current face of the company John Cena, who would also happen to be the one who beat the one in 21-1. Sounds like an awful plan to me.

Prediction: John Cena defeats Randy Orton. I’d love to see an Orton vs. Lesnar match but I don’t think that’s going to happen any time soon, especially if Orton really is injured. Expect Cena to win clean and turn his attention to Brock Lesnar post Hell in a Cell.
