Metal Gear Solid HD Collection coming November in U.S., next year in Europe

Good news and bad news, Metal Gear Solid fans. Konami announced today that the North American release of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is due out at a retailer near you on November 8. The bad news? The European version won’t be coming out until next year.

As previously detailed, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection comes with upscaled, HD-ified versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

For the diehard Metal Gear Solid fan, Konami will be offering a limited edition package that includes a 450-page artbook. No price for the limited edition – or the standard one, for that matter – has been announced so far, however.

Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version will allow for online co-op play over Xbox Live or PlayStation Network for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. PlayStation 3 owners get an additional benefit by way of the ‘transfarring’ feature – if you live in Japan, that is.

According to a report by Joystiq from last month, only the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection will include the transfarring feature. Transfarring allows for sharing game saves between the PSP (and for future games, the PlayStation Vita) and PlayStation 3.
