Anne Hathaway Wants To Make Up With Fans … By Posing Topless?

Anne Hathaway has had a rough road to hoe over the last few months, especially with her fans. The actress recently gave an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where Hathaway made it clear she wants to fix the relationship. Anne is taking a different approach than some of her counterparts, who often just shrug and decide the haters are going to hate.

Hathaway admits a certain segment of the public, often called the “Hathahaters,” turned against her right around awards season in 2013. In the interview, the 31-year-old actress spoke about all that transpired saying, “What are we supposed to do — pretend like it didn’t happen?”

Quite a bit of backlash came from Anne Hathaway posing in a November cover for Harper’s Bazaar in a Giorgio Armani Privé. “People treated me a certain way. But I’ve grown from it. This whole thing has made me a way more compassionate and loving person. And I don’t feel sorry for myself,” Anne said.

Hathaway found out about the backlash while Googling her name for a Funny or Die skit and ran across an article titled, “Why Does Everyone Hate Anne Hathaway?” The leggy brunette told the magazine she felt as though she was punched in the gut when she found the article. Anne says even today she can feel the shame the headline brought. She also says she understands at least a part of the hate came from an awards show speech where she came off as standoffish. She claims she was quite nervous and scared, and that public speaking has always been one of her biggest fears.

“I couldn’t tie this moment [the awards speech] to what I really wanted to say… that’s on me,” Hathaway said. Anne added she fumbled through the end of her speech and forget to thank her manager, who was dealing with cancer. She followed that poor speech up by jumping the gun at the Golden Globe awards, beginning to talk before everyone from Les Miserables was on stage.

So how is Anne Hathaway attempting to make up with the public? It appears, as a first step, she did the interview that featured her posing topless. In the photo shoot, the actress had adorned her chest with a delicate red beadwork. A red gemstone heart spreads across her chest and stomach on the beadwork, the words “I love you” spelled out. Anne Hathaway completed the photo by pointing towards the camera as an apparent way of showing she meant her fans and the public.
