Nick Cannon Fails To Get Mariah Carey Completely Off His Back

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey may not be divorced yet, but Nick is doing his best to show people he has moved on for good. Us Weekly reports that the America’s Got Talent host recently tried to cover up the gigantic “Mariah” tattoo that once spread from across his back, but things didn’t go according to plan.

Earlier this week, Cannon was spotted coming out of an L.A. fitness center with his shirt off, giving onlookers a first-hand look at his brand new tattoo, a massive crucifix that covers up Mariah’s name. Well, almost all of her name. The tattoo artist who inked Nick’s back failed to cover up the last letter of his wife’s first name, leaving a portion of the letter “H” near Cannon’s right shoulder.

Although it looks like Mariah isn’t completely off his back as far as a slightly botched ink job goes, TMZ reports that Nick proudly showed off his new Jesus tattoo to friends who attended his birthday party at Playhouse in Hollywood late last week. Cannon, who turned 33 on October 8, was photographed taking his shirt off to show off the ink that now covers up most of Mariah’s name.

Why did Nick cover up his wife’s name with a new tattoo? Other than the obvious fact that their six year marriage is headed for divorce court, Us Weekly states that Cannon new tattoo may be his way at firing back at Mariah, who recently hinted that her husband cheated on her.

While Mariah didn’t directly state that Cannon was unfaithful, she did allude to it by changing up the lyrics to Billie Holiday’s “Don’t Explain” — a song she belted out while performing in Tokyo. Instead of using the original “And I know you cheat, right from wrong don’t matter” lyrics, Mariah revised the words to send a message to her husband of six years with, “I know you cheated, motherf–ker.”

As previously reported in The Inquisitr, Nick and Mariah have have been living apart for months. There have been multiple rumors that the couple are just having a “trial separation,” but the signs are clear that a divorce is in the cards for the two celebrities. E! News reports that Carey’s plans to split from Cannon are still on course, and that she is “she is definitely divorcing him.”
