Fabulous Feline: Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat Choupette Releases Make-Up Line And Book

Choupette, designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld‘s Birman cat, is busy taking over the beauty industry with her new Shu Uemura make-up line called “Shupette” for a holiday collection that will be released this fall.

The line features eye shadow, false eyelashes, under-base mousse, cleansing oil, glitter powder, a brush set, blush compacts, nail enamel, and more. All the products come in cute pink packaging adorned with Lagerfeld’s sketch of Choupette, Daily Mail UK reports.

Choupette has been Lagerfeld’s muse for a few years now. He acquired the cat after refusing to give it back to his friend, model Baptiste Giabiconi, after babysitting Choupette for the holidays in 2011. In an interview in 2012, Lagerfeld expressed how he fell in love with Choupette.

“I refused to give her back. I thought she was too cute.”

Since then, Choupette has been living a glamorous life, having maids-in-waiting, a personal chef, and being on the cover of magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Deutsche Vogue, according to NY Post. The fluffy, white kitty is also the inspiration for dolls, perfume, and even clothing lines.

Aside from her new make-up line, Choupette is also the subject of a new book entitled Choupette: The Private Live of a High-Flying Fashion Cat. The book was compiled by Jean-Christophe Napias and Patrick Mauriès. The 128-page book also features notes from Madame Françoise, Choupette’s maid, and advice given by Madame Horn, who is her vet. In addition, the book also contains information about Choupette’s travels, diet, fashion, and lifestyle.

Choupette has her own following with her Twitter account having more than 41,000 followers. Lagerfeld adores his feline companion and even said that she isn’t just any Chanel woman. Instead, “she’s more Jean Harlow.” Choupette’s Twitter account is authored by Ashley Tschudin. Her Instagram account, on the other hand, has more than 24,000 followers and the profile has a perfect description of the fabulous feline.

“I’m a famous beauty who refuses to eat on the floor & my maids pamper my every need. I am Choupette Lagerfeld and I am a spoiled pussy. #Chanel”

Lagerfeld loves Choupette so much that he once stated in an interview that he wanted to marry her.

“There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals… I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat.”

With her new make-up line and book, it seems that Choupette will be busy the rest of the year.
