Katy Perry On Past Relationships, Claims She May Have Intimidated Them

Katy Perry claims she may understand what happened in past relationships. The singer’s “roar” may be louder than she thought.

Looking back on her dating life, Perry has noticed that her ex-boyfriends may have felt threatened and intimidated by her. There is no question that she is a beauty who could probably have anyone she wants, and that may just be the reason men appear to be scared of her. The competition may be fierce.

Perry’s position near the top of Hollywood‘s pop scene doesn’t help. She has seen almost all sides of the entertainment industry and wouldn’t need to try that hard to gain the same notoriety that Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber have mastered.

In a recent interview with a popular fashion magazine, Katy Perry opened up on her love life. About to turn 29 years old this year, she’s looking for “Mr. Right,” a man who’ll love her unconditionally. Some problems have persisted though.

“A lot of times I’ve ended up with people who have been intimidated by me, unfortunately. They say they’re not, but it comes out in the long run. They’re threatened, or there’s resentment because they don’t know how to handle it.”

Most guys she might be interested in might see who she’s been with (Russell Brand, Robert Pattinson, Diplo) and where she’s gone in her career and feel like they don’t measure up to her level.

Katy Perry is only human, and it’s hard to see that from the perspective of where she’s been and what she’s done. The “Firework” singer continued with the magazine about what she wants in a man.

“As I’m heading into my 30s I have less time for bulls**t. I look for the same characteristics: a sense of humor – someone who makes me laugh off the charts – someone who is sensitive, someone who loves and understands music, and who is really smart.”

“What I’ve learned is that if you don’t have the foundation of self-love first, you really have nowhere to pull love from to give it away. I had to learn about taking care of myself before I could take care of others. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime. I learned that through therapy.”

Yes, even the “I Kissed a Girl” singer has emotional problems, but the “queen of pop” is trying to get past them.

Do you think you have what it takes to date Katy Perry? What advice would you give to her future suitors?
