Housewife Who Offered Teen Boys ‘Vodka, Weed and Me’ Learns Her Jail Sentence

Chantelle Goatley, a 36-year-old housewife from England, had a bad habit of inviting underage boys to her house for wild parties, said prosecutors who accused the woman of “grooming” the teen boys for sex with her. But while a jury cleared her of two charges that she engaged in sexual acts with teenage boys, she was convicted and sentenced on three related counts.

Now Goatley will be going to jail for 54 months — 4-and-half years — though to the end, she denied the accusations against her made by two boys ages 14 and 15, saying they had lied about her.

But prosecutors said they had Facebook messages in which Goatley offered one of the boys “18 bottles of Stella” as well as “loads of weed.” She followed up that message with another reading, “Vodka, weed, me. What more could you ask for?”

She was accused of having sex with one of the boys and performing a sexual act on that boy and a second underage teen, but the jury at Reading Crow Court did not convict her of those charges.

Goatley was convicted, however, of inciting a child to commit a sexual act, as well as having intent to perform a sexual act with a child. She was also convicted of letting the teen boys smoke marijuana inside her Newbury, Berkshire, home.

“The address she was living at became a popular place for these boys to spend their time, particularly at weekends. There was alcohol ready for them to drink, which she bought. There was cannabis there for them to smoke,” said prosecutor Matthew Walsh. “But there was more to it. This wasn’t just provision of alcohol and cannabis. There was a motive behind it. It was grooming, grooming these young boys, because when they were drunk or, to use the common expression, stoned, struggling to function normally, she would be in a position to take advantage.”

The debauched teen parties at Goatley’s home took place between January and April of 2013. The jury took just over two hours to convict her. The case is reminiscent of a recent case in South Dakota, in which a 30-year-old mom faces life in prison after holding alleged sex parties at her home with boys age 10 and younger.

When the judge read out her sentence, Chantelle Goatley, who continued to deny the charges, reportedly burst into tears.
