Khloé And Kourtney Kardashian Not Welcome In The Hamptons [Report]

Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian may have taken New York and Miami. But if some residents of the Hamptons have their way, the reality show icons won’t be setting up shop in their neighborhood anytime soon.

A planned spin-off for the E! network stars would see them set up a new location for their Dash retail boutique this summer, while getting homey in a rented mansion.

When plans for the Kardashian sisters to film were first announced several weeks ago, there was little hint Khloé and Kourtney would run into opposition. The New York Post quoted an unnamed Hamptons publicist who said, “[a]ll the clubs are going to want them,” dropping a hint that not everyone was against the idea of the camera-happy family staking a claim to the haven for the rich and well connected.

More recent reports are less positive. Page Six quoted an unnamed source Wednesday about the feared Kardashian onslaught:

[Khloé and Kourtney] have been looking at property on Little Plains Road in Southampton, and already the neighbors are up in arms about it. They don’t want the hassle of the entourage, the cameras, the paparazzi and all the fanfare that comes with this attention-seeking family.

Like all television productions that want to shoot in the area, Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons will have to follow strict rules. Page Six reports that beach filming is not allowed during the summer, shutting down any planned scene of a family lay out by the water. Potential plans for a “pop-up” version of Dash may also be nixed, since the Hamptons don’t allow kiosks, according to Vanity Fair.

No filming applications have been filed in Southampton Village, according to the community’s mayor Mark Epley.

Finding that posh pad to shoot scenes could also pose a problem for the pair. According to Thursday’s Telegraph, Khloé and Kourtney are still looking for a place to rent and if The New York Post is to be believed, summer rentals are not only pricey — $200,000 to $500,000 for the season — but hard to come by, especially when intended for use as a television set.

Residents of the Hamptons should not have to worry about Khloé and Kourtney’s other famous sibling causing paparazzi chaos. Kim Kardashian made news this week by insisting her upcoming wedding to Kanye West will not be filmed for television.

Despite the casual rumblings of displeasure, formal complaints about Khloé and Kourtney’s plans have not reached the top, at least not according to Epley. The mayor said he has only heard the rumors and the Kardashians would have to follow the rules like everyone else, stating:

The village is a fairly quiet one, and I think there is some concern.

For Khloé and Kourtney, making peace with the neighbors might be item number one on the agenda when they come to town.
