‘Transformers 5’ Release Date Leaked For Early 2017: Could It Be ‘Victory Of The Fallen’?

The Transformers 5 release date has been leaked in early images before Transformers: Age of Extinction has even hit theaters. Early pictures of a new Hasbro toy line indicate that the title for Michael Bay’s next entry could be Victory of the Fallen. Of course, this is just speculation, and The Fallen might only come back in what appears to be one of two planned animated films after Transformers 4 hits theaters. The animated projects, named Beast Hunters, appear to be planned for 2015 and 2016.

The same set of images also reveal that the Blu Ray and DVD Transformers 4 release date is set for the holidays this year. Those of us who won’t be able to see the Mark Wahlberg sequel in theaters will still have a chance by the end of 2014.

Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures have yet to acknowledge the Transformers 5 release date, but leaked images from a Hasbro slideshow accompanied pictures of the upcoming Age of Extinction toy line. It seems Hasbro gave us more information than anybody else at this point.

Set to appear in Transformers 4 are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Lockdown, Hound, and Drift, as seen in the leaked robot modes. The toy line may have given us the rest of the upcoming title for Transformers 5, Victory of the Fallen. The package image features “Legends Class” Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Jetfire and (of course) The Fallen in forms very much like those of Michael Bay’s live action characters.

We can only hope that Michael Bay doesn’t deliver the same level of terrible plot that Revenge of the Fallen suffered from if the toys revealed are indeed from the next live action film. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are almost certainly not involved this time, while the Transformers 5 release date hasn’t even been officially confirmed yet. Most details are still unknown, but it is nice to see the director who loves explosions finally embracing the Dinobots.

Another image from the gallery appears to be Optimus Prime exchanging a friendly electrical charge with Grimlock. It seems that the autobots have to bond with the Dinobots when they ride them.

Some have expressed the desire to finally see a showdown with Unicron, the main villain from the first animated movie. It seemed like he was teased in Dark of the Moon when Sentinel Prime worked with Megatron to bring Cybertron to Earth. If Unicron is indeed going to be a part of the story, we might also see Galvatron and Rodimus Prime at last, possibly in the final chapter of the allegedly planned second trilogy.

What do you expect or hope to see when the Transformers 5 release date hits in Quarter 2 of 2017?
