Amber Portwood of ‘Teen Mom’ Rushed to Hospital After Suicide Attempt

Teen Mom‘s Amber Portwood has been rushed to the hospital after she was discovered unconscious in her home following what appears to be a suicide attempt.

According to RadarOnline, the troubled reality star received a wellbeing check after a phone conversation with on-again, off-again boyfriend and baby daddy Gary Shirley:

A source said Portwood, the mother of two-year-old tot Leah, was found just before noon on Tuesday. The source said Portwood later admitted to hospital staffers she had taken a cocktail of pills.

It’s unclear who checked on Portwood, but she was discovered on a couch after Shirley’s mom suggested the visit:

“It’s believed she may have taken an overdose of some kind of pill,” the source revealed. “She also may have tried to tie a piece of rope or string around her neck.”

Police and an ambulance unit were called to the scene and Portwood was transported to a local hospital.

Portwood has reportedly since regained consciousness after being admitted to the emergency room. The teen mom had previously been arrested for domestic abuse after segments aired in which she assaulted him. She accepted a plea bargain, and was court ordered to complete services and start a college fund for her toddler daughter, Leah.
