Ed Sheeran Teases Album Title With A Single Character On Twitter


Ed Sheeran can spark excitement among his fans with a single character on Twitter.

Once the acclaimed singer-songwriter announced that he was planning to release his sophomore album later this year, many folks spent a fair amount of their free time wondering what he’s putting together. They’re also impossibly curious about what Sheeran will call his upcoming collection of songs.

Using a single character, Ed Sheeran got fans buzzing on Twitter about a possible title for the album. Since his first release was simply title +, his tweet suggests he’ll call the next endeavor =. See what he did there?

Not surprisingly, the single-character tweet caused fans to unleash one follow-up after another. If you’re curious to see what some of these folks had to say, then take a look at a few of the Twitter reactions below. Their excitement is strangely contagious.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Ed Sheeran is pretty much finished working on his new album. Unless something drastic happens between now and then, the singer hopes to have everything ready to rock before he kicks off a short tour in the UK next October. US dates aren’t available as of this writing.

“I wanted to start teasing people with new music and them come with the serious slice of the pie in a couple of month’s time. The album is pretty much done from my end, I think it just needs to be mixed now. I’ve worked with a lot of interesting people on it,” Ed Sheeran told Capital FM.

He added, “[I will] start dropping music from a couple of weeks from now. Probably with just a live YouTube video but it won’t be the main single. The main single will come after that.”

While he won’t receive any assistance from best friend and tour mate Taylor Swift this time around, Ed Sheeran revealed that he’s working with Pharrell Williams and legendary hip-hop producer Rick Rubin on the new songs.
