‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Poster Puts The Spotlight On Carl [Photo]

The Walking Dead teased the final episodes of season four with a brand new poster.

As always, it’s probably best to skip this article if you’re not up-to-date with the fourth season of AMC’s hit zombie-oriented drama. There are a few spoilers lurking in the passages ahead, so proceed with caution if you don’t want any surprises ruined.

Following the destruction of the prison, the murder of Hershel, and the apparent death of the Governor, our heroes were ultimately forced to go their separate ways. Carl helped his wounded father Rick escape from the burning prison as everything they’d worked so hard to create crumbled around them.

Since Rick’s son will probably have to step up his game in order to take care of his injured father, there’s a strong possibility that Carl could take center stage in a few of the upcoming episodes of The Walking Dead. The latest poser released for the show also suggests the boy is essentially coming into his own.

What’s most intriguing about the latest promotional image for the series is Rick’s position in the artwork. Previous installments found our hero front and center, though he’s taking a backseat to Carl this time around. Does this mean that Carl’s role in the final episodes of season four is much more prominent?

Comicbook.com theorizes that another major character could bite the dust by the end of season four. Since the series has never shied away at killing folks off, there’s a good chance that something devastating is lurking in the next episodes.

“We’ve got a pretty good indication of which cast member will be dying, and let’s just say it will be a real shocker. If what we believe is correct, then one of the main cast members who has not been killed in the comic book series will die,” the website explained.

For those curious about the current cast of characters in The Walking Dead comic book, Rick, Carl, Maggie, and Michonne are the only survivors still making their way through this deadly zombie-infested landscape. Star Andrew Lincoln previously stated that something truly shocking is looming on the horizon.

“And really, trust me, I think that three of the strongest episodes we’ve done this season are yet to come. Probably four. There are two episodes that I absolutely adore in the back eight, one of which I think is going to be the most controversial episode that we’ve probably ever been involved in, and that’s saying something,” he said.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 9.
