Dwyane Wade Fathered Love Child [Report]

Dwyane Wade reportedly fathered a love child, and the mother is not his fiancee, actress Gabrielle Union.

The baby boy, who was born about a month ago, before his recent engagement, was supposedly conceived while Wade, 31, was “on a break” from dating Union, the Gossip Cop website claims. The mother of Wade’s new son has not been identified.

While not pleased upon learning of this development, Union has reportedly come to accept it, according to E! News. “A source tells E! News that Union was angry and distanced herself from Wade when she first heard the news. They have since apparently reconciled, with Union all smiles and flashing her huge diamond engagement ring while watching her husband-to-be play the L.A. Lakers on Christmas Day at Staples Center.” The Miami Heat star has full custody of his sons Zion and Zaire with his first wife, Siohvaughn Funches, his high school sweetheart, after a contentious divorce.

Wade and Union, 41, got engaged on December 21 when Wade presented Union with an 8-1/2 carat cushion cut diamond engagement ring. No date has been set for the wedding, but he expects it to take place in September 2014. Dwyane Wade also said he had been shopping for the perfect ring since October, around the time the Heat returned from training camp in the Bahamas.

The NBA star apparently acknowledged his newborn son yesterday. Wade told reporters that “I’m in the public eye, so obviously that’s a part of it. It comes with the territory. But, it’s kind of … as I’ve always done my whole life … is always focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father. I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now.”

About fathering a son with the as-yet unnamed woman outside of his relationship with Union, he added that “this is something that my family knows and my now fiancee worked through when we got back together, and understood that we wanted to continue our lives together and continue supporting our family and we’re going to do that. That’s what I’ve always done.”
