Kids today have a much larger treasure trove of technological marvels at their fingertips than their parents ever did when they were young. Toddlers these days are seen interacting with tech-toys much more comfortably. But sometimes during those interactions, something seemingly terrible happens which cannot be undone. A 4-year-old managed to do just that, but sought to remedy the situation with a tearful appeal.
Four-year-old Cadence was playing with a little camera. The playtime involving Cadence and her brothers was going quite well — that is, until she decided to pick-up the little digital camera that the family used to capture family photos. The toddlers were playing along nicely, clicking photos. After taking a few snaps, she possibly decided to review her photography skills. But instead of scrolling through the images, she managed to hit just the right sequence of the tiny buttons on the camera to delete a photo, reports 22 Words .
Now had it been one of the images taken during the playtime, young Cadence would have immediately taken another one. But the photo she managed to completely erase was of her beloved “Uncle Dave,” who undoubtedly must be one of her close friends. Upon realizing what she had done, Cadence was completely undone and broke down. But instead of mourning the irreplaceable loss, her parents did something wonderful.
Cadence’s parents asked her to appeal to Uncle Dave via a video, which they uploaded to YouTube. They asked Cadence to ask Uncle Dave for another photo to replace the one that was accidentally deleted by her. Little Cadence, who seems to be inconsolable so far, takes some time to regain her composure and seems to like the idea of a heartfelt appeal.
In the short 30-second video, Cadence is seen asking Uncle Dave to send any one of his pictures. Though the parents already know the reason, they want Uncle Dave to know why his 4-year-old niece is asking for his photo. So her father asks her, “Why, what happened?” To this the cute one responds, “I deleted your picture.”
Some parents might have asked if she realized what she done. But instead, her father asks, “What does it mean [by ‘deleted your picture’]?” Poor little Cadence, who is clearly aware of her actions, tries her best to explain, in her own sweet innocent way, what “deleting a picture” means. She explains by saying, “Your picture went away. Forever.” The video cuts off right before it seems poor Cadence is all set to break down in sobs.
With the rapid pace set by technological innovation, kids have long forgotten the toys their parents used to play with. But such cute accidents remind us these are still kids.
Update : 22 Words has confirmed Uncle Dave responded to her heartfelt tearful appeal, reported PetaPixel . Nonetheless, don’t you feel the little girl just managed to put forth one of the best and most persuasive arguments to keep your photos backed-up?
