The WWE Divas have done a fantastic job at showing what they can do in a new Diva’s Revolution that is really paying off with the fans. Each team has members that are all at least good at something in the world of pro-wrestling. However, until this past week, it seemed that the team of Paige , Charlotte, and Becky Lynch didn’t have a name. Luckily for them, they were able to settle on the name “Submission Sorority.”
Sadly, that name was taken, somewhat — but not by some sort of other pro-wrestling stable. Instead, according to TMZ , it happens to be taken by a pornography website called Bangbros . They do a series on the website that happens to deal with sorority girls in some sort of “submission.” I’ll let you fill on the blanks about all the armbars and boston crabs they must do there.
What’s so funny about all of this is that the site has gone up in hits by 56 percent since WWE RAW, according to the Bangbros traffic analyst. It is hilarious to think that WWE helped to add traffic to a porn website as a PG company. Obviously, it was not intentional, but it is nevertheless comical.
The porn company is set to send a gift basket to Vince McMahon to thank him and WWE for the traffic help. This is obviously the funniest part of it all at the end of the day.
This is clearly a major botch on WWE’s end. Clearly, they can no longer use the name, which they have probably already promoted a ton and started on merchandise for. One would imagine that WWE will have a name for them by next week. A few names being thrown around are The Submission Sisters, as well as The Horsewomen. However, WWE does not want to step on Ronda Rousey’s toes with such a name.
Most think it would not be an issue, as Ric Flair’s daughter, Charlotte , happens to be in the group. So, a name such as this is sort of a birth right of hers. It remains to be seen if WWE would allow such a name to be used. However, there is a thought that the Horsewomen name will eventually be used on WWE programming at one point or another.
For now, we can probably expect WWE to give us a completely different name by next week on WWE RAW . What will be interesting to see is what they decide to go with. It probably goes without saying that WWE will do extensive research on that name to make sure it is not taken. They will especially make sure there are no porn ties.
