Last night brought the WWE Universe back a few years with a decent brawl with Brock Lesnar and John Cena dueling inside and outside of the squared circle. It was reminiscent of their brawl two years ago before their ultimate clash at Extreme Rules.

Unfortunately, last night didn’t have that same feel as the one in 2012 did. Reason being, the feud right now is months in the making. Back in 2012, it was still very fresh. It was their first match in years, and the fans showed true excitement for the match. Cena wasn’t nearly as stale, so the crowd was truly divided.
On to last night’s brawl, it couldn’t compare to that of two years ago. Although, I applaud WWE’s attempt at making their rivalry still fresh and full of hate. Give it to Paul Heyman for his masterful performances every single week. Without him, this feud would have nothing to show for it. Monday Night Raw finally got creative, and it’s long overdue.
When Cena locked Heyman in the closet with Great Khali standing guard was different. That hasn’t been done in a long time. So, to see a different twist on this feud gave it new ground. Lesnar will win this Sunday at Night of Champions, but regardless, props to WWE for the new elements last night.
During the brawl, Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler mentioned that Lesnar might have broken his nose when Cena got Lesnar with a right-hook. WrestleZone is now reporting that an injury might not be the case.
Even though Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL asked multiple times if Brock Lesnar’s nose was broken by John Cena, Lesnar was totally fine backstage.
After the segment was over, PWInsider.com is reporting that Lesnar was backstage walking around and showed no signs of a potential injury.
WWE did a great job of selling a potential injury, but it was done to make Cena look stronger. No harm there fortunately, because an injury to Lesnar would spell total disaster for Vince McMahon and Triple H. Regardless of the success, few are not happy with Lesnar’s dominance.
Dolph Ziggler in particular spoke out against Lesnar by saying that it angers him that he is part-time. To Ziggler’s credit, he has every right to be upset. The guy puts in more work than anyone in the WWE. Ziggler deserves a title feud but won’t get it anytime soon. It is an old discussion that will be brought up until wrestling dies. Are part-time wrestlers ruining the company?
It is a business, so the part-time guys bring in money. WWE needs to release their young guys and let them be pushed, but those restraints will always be there if McMahon is in charge. Lesnar is money and they know that. WWE will always listen to money.
