WWE News: Daniel Bryan Will Return To The Ring, Wants It To Happen At ‘WWE SummerSlam’

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has been gone from WWE for a number of months now with a believed neck injury. It has been uncertain if he would ever return to the ring. Getting cleared to return is not an easy thing, regardless of how good you might look to the naked eye. Edge looks fine, for example, and very healthy, as well as in shape. We all know, however, that he cannot wrestle again.

Bryan spoke about returning to the ring recently in a recent interview . He seemed optimistic, saying as follows.

“I feel great. And it’s just a matter of getting cleared by doctors. Their whole clearance process is more difficult than people would think. … That’s the biggest issue. I will wrestle again. But it’ll be interesting to see when.”

When asked if he’d return before the year was up, he claimed the following.

“I don’t know. It’s kind of in the hands of certain doctors, as far as them clearing me and what not. My goal was to be back by SummerSlam, and that’s looking less and less likely, and so then you’re hoping to be back by Royal Rumble.”

He went on to talk about how WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin reached out to him to give him some advice on wrestling with a neck injury, which was cool to know Austin did. Austin injured his neck after a piledriver from Owen Hart years ago. He managed to return, but had to have surgery later on. He has a similar issue to what Edge has, but managed to fix his earlier on, which is why he possibly could return and Edge cannot.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan is clearly able to come back once he heals up in doctor’s eyes. However, seeing him back at WWE SummerSlam seems like a longshot. Royal Rumble could be great. Most think that if he does come back, he might have to work a lighter schedule to start with. He also won’t go in and get into some crazy match types right off.

Daniel Bryan has been given a championship, and departed shortly after, 2 years in a row now. It seems that it is hard to trust a guy like that with a title, knowing he could be gone like he has been in the last few years. So if he ever does return, would WWE trust him with a championship of any kind, despite his popularity? It is hard to tell.

It would be great to see Daniel Bryan return to the ring. Few would be against it. However, if doctors do clear him to return to WWE, we should not expect him to get a major push right away.
