A woman gives up leggings after thinking about her husband’s honest confession. The fashion staple that fills the closet of so many women in today’s world no longer works for Veronica Partridge.
Partridge asked her husband how he feels about leggings on women and he gave her a brutally honest answer, Christian Today reports . When she heard what her husband, Dale, thought about leggings and form-fitting pants, he told her it’s hard not to “look.”
The 25-year old is getting attention for a post she wrote on her blog about the subject. Partridge’s husband said he’s tempted to gaze at women donning the super tight pants and that kind of clothing on women causes men to have “lustful thoughts.” Now, the young woman from Oregon only wears her leggings while she’s at home, or makes sure she covers her behind when out in public.
Partridge notes in her post about giving up leggings that if her husband is respectful about not looking at other women wearing them, what about men who aren’t so good about it?
“If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control?”
Friends of Veronica’s encouraged her to ask Dale how he feels about leggings on women. She learned a lot from him when they had the surprisingly open discussion.
“When I walk into a place and there are women wearing yoga pants everywhere, it’s hard to not look. I don’t, but it’s not easy.”
Partridge is now even more determined to give up leggings so she can be a good example to her husband and daughter. Moreover, she feels it honors God.
Veronica goes on to say that it can be a challenge finding an outfit to wear at times, but is comfortable with her decision. She says that she made this decision on her own and in no way is trying to discourage women from wearing leggings. According to Christian Today , some feel her views on giving up leggings are ignorant and hypocritical — with some comparing her thoughts to radical Islam’s. She has a ton of support for her decision to give up leggings as well, and that includes men!
