YouTube users are known for posting many different kinds of videos. However, one of the most popular genres — right behind humor and D.I.Y. (do it yourself) — are the educational videos. The Inquisitr has reported numerous times on such popular educational videos that have gone viral. This includes what happens to the brain on caffeine as well as alcohol . Why, there are even reports of the most odd kind, such as the environmental scientific study of goats . That’s right! Goats… which is okay because maybe, sometime, a goat question might be the deciding factor for the final question in Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit .
Now there is a video by the SciShow which answers a question that was probably lingering in the back of your mind ever since you tried to microwave something wrapped in tinfoil. Why can’t anyone put metal in a microwave?
The video was uploaded by the official YouTube channel of SciShow on September 16, 2014, and it already has almost 300,000 views with almost 10,000 likes. Only a little over 100 people did not like this video. Maybe they like to microwave tinfoil. Who knows, right? Back on subject, the official synopsis for the video is as follows.
“We know we’re not supposed to put metal in the microwave, but why? We don’t microwave silverware but what about Hot Pocket wrappers? They have metal on the inside. How does that work? Let Michael Aranda explain.”
