The game has an added bit of drama . Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, originally suspended for the game after stepping on the ankle of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the team’s Week 17 game, won his appeal, and will now get to face the league’s rushing champion in DeMarco Murray .
Suh, who told NFL officials during his appeal that he was too cold to feel himself step on Rodgers, didn’t elaborate much on his turn of fortune.
“I’m just pleased with the decision and glad I have the opportunity — I can go against Dallas and help my teammates win the game,” he said. “I think that’s most important.”
Fans who watch the Lions vs. Cowboys live online will see if Murray can make room on the ground against the league’s best rushing attack. Detroit allowed only 69.3 yards on the ground per game and made 133 tackles for a loss.
“If you look at the numbers, they’ll tell you that they run the ball obviously as well as anybody in the league and you look at it statistically for us, we’re right up there at the top in the rankings in terms of stopping the run,” Detroit coach Jim Caldwell said. “So all in all, I think it’s going to be a real good battle.”
But Dallas is far from a one-dimensional offense. They are led by quarterback Tony Romo, who led the league yards per attempt (8.52) and passer rating (113.2 — his career high).
The Cowboys offense also ended the season on a torrid stretch.

The game also features two teams with difficulty getting over the hump. Detroit had put up a string of disappointing seasons, reaching the playoffs only once in the last 15 years. Dallas has also had a difficult time rising beyond mediocrity, finishing 8-8 in each of the last three seasons.
