Shortly after Keyshia Cole was arrested for assaulting the woman who slept with her boyfriend, the singer has bounced back with a brand new single. Keyshia’s song “Love Letter” tells an emotional story not far off from the turmoil she likely encountered leading up to her arrest, involving plenty of bad boyfriends and broken relationships.
Cole’s song, which you can listen to in the video at the top of the page, features the rapper Future. It places Keyshia inside a large mansion, which the viewer is probably supposed to assume is hers, and sings about the disappointment of her past lover. Cole considers giving her man another chance, but eventually decides she can’t put up with him any longer. Keyshia’s boyfriend, in this case, is played by model and singer Don Benjamin, made famous by a past cycle of America’s Next Top Model . There are glimpses of Keyshia and Don’s interactions, mostly involving heated arguments. According to Rap-Up , Benjamin is slated to return for future Keyshia Cole videos to reprise his role.
The climax of “Love Letter” shows Keyshia finally breaking it off with Benjamin’s character and getting rid of his love letters for good. The video plays out like a drama set to music, so be sure to give it a watch.
According to The Singers Room , Keyshia Cole’s “Love Letter” is off her upcoming album Point of No Return . Cole’s album will be released on October 7. In addition to Future, Keyshia’s new LP features the musicians Juicy J, Wale, August Alsina, 2 Chainz, and Gavyn Rhone. Keyshia has said Point of No Return is a “complete project.” While that’s a pretty vague way to describe a music album, Cole claims her fans will “understand it” once they give it a listen.

A pre-release review of Keyshia Cole’s Point of No Return by the Boston Globe accused the album of being too familiar for Cole, who always writes “from the point of view of women who settle for cheating, unreliable men.” However, Keyshia Cole does deliver a raw, emotional performance with a lot of help from her producers.
