Trisha Yearwood performed onstage with her husband, Garth Brooks, yesterday at the BMO Harris Bradley Cente r in Milwaukee. Yearwood and Brooks performed a duet, “In Another’s Eyes” and then Trisha performed a few of her own songs during her husband’s break. Before Trisha performed with Garth, however, Garth got booed onstage. It wasn’t what you think, during his performance of “Ain’t Going Down (‘Til The Sun Goes Down),” Brooks was running around the stage in typical Garth fashion with a camcorder. When Brooks climbed on top of a giant metallic orb that was surrounding drummer Mike Palmer, Garth turned and faced his cheering fans to his left. The fans behind him didn’t take kindly to this, so they started booing and screaming for his attention. Brooks started a back and forth exchange with his fans after that and his fans were screaming for more. If you have ever attended a Garth Brooks concert, you know how energetic and enthusiastic Brooks can be, so this was just typical of his onstage presence.

Yearwood joined her husband onstage towards the end of his first set at the BMO center and performed the duet with him. Then when Brooks took a break, Yearwood performed four of her own songs, “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl),” “How Do I Live,” “Prizefighter,” and “She’s in Love with the Boy.” Trisha joined her husband not just to help with his world tour, but she is also on tour herself, signing cookbooks. Trisha has her own cooking show on the Food Network, called Trisha’s Southern Kitchen . Yearwood is currently in her sixth season on the show, and is also promoting her third and newest cookbook, Trisha’s Table: My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life .
This was the first time Brooks has performed in Milwaukee in 19 years. Yearwood’s husband was concerned that fans would not buy tickets to his concerts, two concerts were booked at the BMO center and both sold out rather quickly. That prompted a third show for tonight to be scheduled because of the high demand of tickets. Brooks and Yearwood began the world tour in Dallas last week at American Airlines, his first appearance in Dallas in over 17 years. His two booked shows there sold out so quickly that five more shows were added. Brooks broke his Dallas ticket sales record by about 50,000 tickets — over 100,000 tickets were sold on Friday, July 24. When he performed at Reunion Arena in 1998, he sold 50,213 tickets. Also, while in Dallas, Yearwood celebrated her birthday on September 21 at Six Flags over Texas.
Yearwood says touring with her husband is keeping their marriage together. Garth Brook’s children have all grown up and have left for college, so the stars have a lot of time to dedicate to their music careers again. Yearwood told People that she was lucky to get to tour with her husband.
“It’s awesome. You know, we are together. We got married 10 years ago, and we said we didn’t want to be together to be apart, and so I feel really lucky ’cause I get to tour the world with the love of my life and my best friend,”
Yearwood also said the couple has plans to release a Christmas duet album but it will probably not be released until 2016.
