Timothy Olyphant says a James Bond 24 movie role would definitely need to have him smoking marijuana… among other changes to the well-known character.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , even Kate Upton was rumored to be a James Bond girl at one point .
In reality, the James Bond 24 film will bring back Skyfall director Sam Mendes and will star Daniel Craig as James, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. Other than that there hasn’t been any confirmation on who will be the villain or the new Bond girl.
Daniel Craig reportedly has asked Adele to do the theme song after the success of Skyfall . The James Bond 24 release date has been set for November 6, 2015, although filming hasn’t begun as of this writing. Not much else is known about the movie, but some rumors claim the film might be based on Sebastian Faulks’ 2008 James Bond novel entitled Devil May Care .
Speaking of rumors, the internet apparently started the idea that Timothy Olyphant would become the next James Bond after Daniel Craig. He was even congratulated on having the main role in the Lone Ranger at one point, but he “dodged that bullet.” Kind of sounds like Jackie Chan constantly dying …
Based upon the interview with Conan, it sounds like a more appropriate name for Olyphant’s version of the character would be James Bong:
“I think this one might be true…. Everyone brings a little something to it. First of all, I don’t think the accent is necessary…. Gotta keep it fresh. Maybe he was born there but then his parents split and, you know, he spent most of his years in, like, Seattle. Now he’s back. I could do an accent if it’s absolutely necessary, I mean, I don’t want to lose the job right here…. I think the key, though, it that he needs to be a little more chill, a little more like… I think he should smoke weed. The last guy drank Heineken, it used to be martinis and bow ties, now he’s drinking beers and I think the natural progression is… you know. Bong. James Bong!”
