Orange Is the New Black star Taylor Schilling’s injury during a sex scene became a big topic of conversation during a recent chat on Late Night With Seth Meyers . Schilling has had some wild scenes in OITNB , but one led to an actual injury report, and Taylor opened up about the incident in her chat with Meyers. What’s the scoop?
Taylor Schilling’s injury came, she explains, as she excitedly took her shirt off and scratched herself with the prison name tag on her shirt. She says that there was blood and a gash on her face, and production had to be halted for about an hour to take care of her. While ultimately the injury wasn’t necessarily a significant one, it sounds as if it shook things up for a bit.
The actress joked that she didn’t think anybody else had known about the incident, but when Meyers joked that they had seen the accident report. Schilling then noted that there actually had been a report made after Taylor Schilling’s injury, but it seems she didn’t think it was going to draw that much attention as a conversation topic.
Though Taylor says there was a gash on her face and some blood, ultimately it wasn’t all that big a deal. She says she just had more of a raw spot on her face after the incident and it startled her a bit. Luckily, there were no lasting issues from the traumatic sex scene injury.
Just when did this happen? According to the Daily Mail , Taylor Schilling’s injury happened during a scene where Taylor’s character Piper and Laura Prepon’s character Alex got frisky in a love-hate sex scene involving the floor, table, and bookcases in Season 3, which was just recently released on Netflix.
The dynamic between Piper and Alex has been a complex one throughout the show’s run, as fans know, and it definitely takes some interesting turns in Season 3. Season 4 of Orange Is the New Black is already in the works and there are a lot of answers fans will be seeking. Everybody was left hanging in a big way regarding Alex in particular, and many of the other characters were left in the midst of cliffhangers as well. Luckily, fans can rest assured that more is on the way, though it’s going to be a long wait.
While sex scenes always tend to be awkward on shows and movies, though The Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling may argue otherwise , something like Taylor Schilling’s injury is a bit unusual. As for what lies ahead in Season 4 of Orange Is the New Black , for now fans will have to be patient and stay tuned for updates.
