Star Wars fans who were looking for a ton of information about J.J. Abrams’ Episode VII walked away from Disney’s D23 expo with plenty of disappointment in their pockets.

The event is kind of like the company’s own little Comic-Con. The studio unveils exclusive footage, discusses upcoming products, and basically beats the drum for anything they want to promote.

Since Disney is now the owner of the Star Wars franchise, many fans thought there would be a plethora of details unveiled at the D23 expo. Unfortunately, the studio is currently keeping any and all details about Episode VII under wraps for the time being.

Since Star Wars is a big part of the Disney family now, fans didn’t walk away completely empty-handed. While Episode VII info was scant, the studio did unveil a few details about its Star Wars-themed attraction and the upcoming Rebels animated series.

When a fan asked resident Lucasfilm Star Wars expert Pablo Hidalgo about the new show, he said that the series would take place between Episode III and Episode IV . He hinted that fans might get to see both Yoda and Obi-Wan during the story, but stopped short of confirming any details.

Another Star Wars-related tidbit that came out of D23 over the weekend involved the proposed theme park the company is currently putting together. However, there’s a very strong possibility that the attraction could end up in Disneyland instead of Disney World in Orlando.

“We’re going to continue to invest in Disneyland. We’ve got some pretty exciting things that we’ll be announcing over the next couple of months,” Chairman and CEO Robert Iger said during a conference call on August 6.

Disney teased the theme park at the Imagineering pavilion during the D23 expo. This included a series of crates that appeared to carry a number of Star Wars-themed items. This included a crate with an R2-D2 shaped hole in one side.

Are you disappointed that Disney didn’t unveil any Star Wars: Episode VII info at the D23 expo?
