Sofia Vergara was reportedly hospitalized this weekend, undergoing surgery for an unspecified condition.
But there’s one problem — a friend of the Modern Family star said it never happened.
Vergara was reportedly getting ready for the Academy Awards this weekend when she had some kind of medical emergency, the nature and severity of which was not known. The Daily Mail reported on the alleged medical incident, saying that Sofia Vergara was out and in good spirits on Friday before things took a turn.
The report added that Vergara was undergoing surgery for the condition.
A friend of Vergara shot down the report, however, telling HuffPost Celebrity that “Sofia is fine and there is nothing to worry about.”
Sofia Vergara’s personal life has been a hot topic among tabloids of late. Early on New Year’ Day she and fiance Nick Loeb got into an altercation at a nightclub that reportedly left the actress with scratches and a tear in her dress.
It was later reported that Vergara and Loeb were getting into pre-marital counseling, agreeing to work on several areas of their relationship before walking down the aisle.
Vergara herself has talked about how much she’s looking forward to the wedding, and how she tends to go a little overboard when it comes to celebrations.
“If I’m going to do something, it’s going to have to be a big event … I just had my 40th birthday in Mexico. I had more than 100 people.”
