Skyrim Player Proposes To Girlfriend With Amulet Of Mara In Real Life, Not Elder Scrolls Online

One Skyrim player who proposed to his girlfriend decided to copy an idea from his favorite Elder Scrolls game by using an item called the Amulet of Mara.

In a related report by The Inquisitr , the Elder Scrolls Online beta may surprise Skyrim players who are used to the twitch-based action provided by the last game:

“The game is said to be just as vast as Skyrim. The graphics are well done although slightly different from Skyrim. There’s also many changes to basic gameplay. They’ve changed up lockpicking, enchanting, and other systems entirely when compared to Skyrim. Again, this is probably either a good thing or a problem if your expectations were set by Skyrim.”

Interestingly enough, Elder Scrolls Online will also feature marriage, but what fans mostly remember is how Skyrim implemented the feature. If you allowed your character to wear the Amulet of Mara then romantic dialogue options would open up, sometimes with hilarious results.

Well, one Skyrim player named Sarah Briody say she introduced her boyfriend to the game only to have him become inspired by the in-game object:

“I introduced [my fiance] to Skyrim —and he enjoys every minute of the game. I love watching him play because we both have very different game styles. We do play other multiplayer games together when we have the opportunity. He gave me the amulet and while I recognized what it was—it didn’t really click as to WHAT it was. I put it on and he started to smile from ear to ear. Then he said, ‘Is that an Amulet of Mara? I’m surprised someone like you isn’t spoken for.’ Then it finally registered that he was proposing! He got down on one knee and slipped the ring on my finger.”

Well, considering that World Of Warcraft themed weddings have become popular it’s no surprise that Skyrim may follow in its wake.
