Shia LaBeouf has, once again, found himself in the middle of a mess. The former A-list actor-turned-addicted troublemaker went on a racist tirade against a cop. Now, after the story made its rounds in the blogosphere, Shia LaBeouf issued an apology, saying he was “deeply ashamed” of his behavior and claimed to be struggling with addiction.

Let’s review what happened.

According to HuffPost , yesterday, word was released that Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, on the charges of public drunkenness, obstruction, and disorderly conduct. The arrest happened the previous Saturday.

Instead of taking his arrest for what it was and waiting for his attorney to arrive, LaBeouf launched into a racist tirade against the arresting officer, and of course, it was all caught on camera for the world to see.

“As seen in the video, the 31-year-old actor tells a black officer, ‘You’re going to hell, straight to hell, bro.’ Then he tells the officer that what he did was ‘savage.’ When an officer asks, ‘Why was it savage?’ LaBeouf responds, ‘because you’re a black man.’ The actor continues to berate the officers, claiming they are racist because the black officer arrested him ‘for being white in a city that don’t have nothing to do with none of you.’”

He then made comments about what the officer does with a certain part of his anatomy when he’s watching adult films.

You can see the video below, but be rest assured, it isn’t safe for work.

Perhaps realizing that it wasn’t a good idea to curse out an officer of the law while spewing racist invective, according to NBC News , Shia LaBeouf then took to his Twitter to release a statement in apology, saying he was “deeply ashamed” of his behavior and that he was “struggling with addiction,” which is why he launched into the tirade.

Shia LaBeouf is in Savannah to film The Peanut Butter Falcon with 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson . The two are also, reportedly, dating.

But at what point do apologies become just words? That’s the question Perez Hilton had for Shia LaBeouf, and he said that LaBeouf’s public apologies are becoming too frequent, to the point that they’re losing their meaning.

“This may be the most self-aware thing Shia LaBeouf has ever said. And yes, we double checked it wasn’t plagiarized! Ha!After his arrest for public intoxication, and the subsequent release of a his appalling arrest video, the actor took to Twitter to apologize once again on Wednesday.”

Do you think Shia LaBeouf was sincere in his apology? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
