Sam Neill, who starred as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III , said it is unlikely he will return for the fourth installment in the franchise.

In an interview with Examiner , Neill said that while he would be up for a cameo, he didn’t think the film needed him .

“Look, you never say no. I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great,” he said. “As I said, I’d never say no, but I wish them… well, I’m sure it’s going to be great, but they don’t need me.”

Filming for Jurassic World is scheduled to begin on June 2 in Louisiana. Production Weekly initially reported that filming would take place in Baton Rouge, but the publication later clarified that the movie would “most likely” film in New Orleans .

So far, no plot details have been revealed, but director Colin Trevorrow did clarify that the film won’t be a reboot of the 1993 original .

“This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park,” Trevorrow tweeted in November. In May, he tweeted a picture of a landscape with the caption “Nublar,” implying that Jurassic World would be set in Isla Nublar, the location of the first film. The second and third films were set in Isla Sorna, also known as Site B, which is 87 miles away from Isla Nublar.

Trevorrow has also acknowledged that he has a major challenge ahead of him as far as living up to Jurassic Park , and said he and the rest of the crew “are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie.”

Bryce Dallas Howard , Nick Robinson, and Ty Simpkins have been confirmed for Jurassic World. In December, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt confirmed that he was in contention for a lead role.

“I know I want to do it and I know the director wants me to do it so now it’s just a matter of everyone coming together and making sure it can work,” he said. Men in Black III star Josh Brolin has also been rumored for a lead role.

Jurassic World is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2015.
