Salma Hayek, an actress known around the world for her sexy curves, isn’t a very big fan of the fashion’s industry’s penchant for producing “little boy” clothing for women. According to Yahoo! News , the Desperado star recently spoke out about her distaste for current fashion trends, suggesting that designers are encouraging women to fight their genetics by stuffing their bodies into articles of clothing that make them look like little boys.

“In recent years, we have had to fight against our genetic nature to look like little boys, to be socially accepted as beautiful,” the 46-year-old actress explained during a recent interview. “It used to be that a young girl couldn’t wait to grow up and take the shape of a woman. Now our goal is regression, to look younger and like a child. There has not been enough diversity of body shape in fashion.”

Salma Hayek’s curves, which she attributes to her adoration of both food and wine, will be on display in a number of upcoming motion pictures, none of which will find the actress donning anything that closely resembles “little boy” fashion. On October 12, Hayek will appear opposite Kevin James and Henry Winkler in director Frank Coraci’s mixed martial arts comedy Here Comes the Boom .

If watching the actress interact with The King of Queens alum is your idea of a wonderful cinematic experience, you’ll be able to once again partake in this activity when Grown Up 2 hits the big screen next year. Director Dennis Dugan’s sequel — which re-teams Salma Hayek with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Maria Bello — is presently slated to arrive in US theaters on July 13, 2013. After that, the Frida star will appear with Eric Dane and Kurt Russell in Ron Shelton’s sports comedy Sweet Spot .

Do you agree with Salma Hayek’s belief that the fashion industry is forcing women to dress like little boys?
