Back when Ashton Kutcher was married to Demi Moore, everyone pointed out the fact that he was somewhat close in age to Moore’s oldest daughter, Rumer Willis. Despite that, Demi and Ashton made it a point to talk about just how well they created a close knit family and that the girls saw Kutcher as a step father. In fact, the girls revealed that they called Ashton “my other dad,” m.o.d. for short.
Since his divorce from Demi Moore , talking about his relationship with his ex-step daughters has always been off the table until recently. Now Rumer Willis is opening up on what she thinks about Ashton’s new baby with Mila Kunis.
Willis, now 26, visited Billy Bush and Kit Hoover over at Access Hollywood to discuss all things family. Now that she’s older, Rumer has a different perspective on her mother’s relationship with Ashton.
“I reached out to him when he [and Mila Kunis] had the baby, which is so awesome. I saw photos of her. She’s very cute … I realized the other day, he was a year younger than me when he and my mom started going out. It would be like me meeting someone who already had three teenage kids, kind of going into that situation was crazy.”
As for her father, Bruce Willis, who has an additional two children with wife Emma, Rumer says he’s mellowed out this time around.
“He’s shifted into this goofy, fun, kind of demeanor. He has two little babies now, which is crazy to me! They’re so awesome and so fun.”
Rumer didn’t comment on her mother Demi’s love life but did give her famous mother the thumbs up for her parenting style. Talking about how Demi introduced Ashton to the family back in the day, Willis said, “I think it was more, her going, ‘Hey, this is my life and these are my kids and my priorities. So if you want to come and kind of join our crazy clan, this is what I already have kind of built.’”
She continued, “Which I find so amazing and respectful … It’s one of the things that I admire most about my [parents], is that they set such an incredible example for kind of putting their children first and keeping a family together, no matter what.”
These days Rumer Willis is pretty busy all on her own. She has a movie coming out called Always Woodstock with Jason Ritter, Brittany Snow, and Katey Sagal.
