A Royal Caribbean fire burned the cruise ship Grandeur of the Seas.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Royal Caribbean fire was not that serious but all the cruise ship calamities of the last year are putting all cruise lines in the spotlight. The worst cruise ship disasters were seen on the Carnival line of cruise ships, with one engine fire making the Royal Caribbean fire seem like nothing in comparison.

After the Royal Caribbean fire was contained and dealt with, the cruise line released a statement:

“In an abundance of caution, the Captain deemed it necessary to muster all guests at their assembly stations. All 2,224 guests and 796 crew have been accounted for, and there have been no injuries of guests or crew reported.”

The Royal Caribbean fire was deemed a “Class A” fire due to combustibles and other easily ignited materials on board the Grandeur of the Seas. The Royal Caribbean fire was contained to Deck 3 of the Grandeur Of The Seas and eventually extinguished. No one was injured during the blaze, although two passengers were reported to have fainted.

After the Royal Caribbean fire was put out they announced the Grandeur of the Seas was being diverted:

“The safety of our guests and crew is our top priority, and we will continue to focus on their needs and concerns … Grandeur of the Seas was enroute to CocoCay, Bahamas, but is currently heading to Freeport, Bahamas, for further evaluation. The ship is in calm seas, and has full power.”

Does the Royal Caribbean fire on the Grandeur of the Seas make you afraid to go cruising?
